The car park entry barrier caused a bit of a headache. after a late return in the rain, I struggled to figure out how to get back in. The breakfast, while diverse, featured rubbery sausages and soggy hash browns, which left a bit to be desired. Parking charges felt unnecessary, especially for a budget stay, and the overall price seemed steep for what it offered.

great base for exploring local parks and charming villages
My recent stay here was fantastic as it was just under 2 km to Mercia Marina, perfect for a leisurely stroll by the water, and the nearby Willington Gravel Pits Nature Reserve offered beautiful walking paths to connect with nature. the only downside was that the breakfast choice could be a bit sparse, but it was budget-friendly and clean overall.

I appreciated the clean and bright decor throughout the hotel, which created a welcoming atmosphere. The room was cozy, and the spacious breakfast area made it easy for me to navigate with my mobility aids.
Additional pillows would enhance comfort during the stay.

The location was ideal for biking enthusiasts, especially for the Tissington Trail, making it a convenient stop. A safe area to leave bikes on the roof overnight added to the reassurance. Breakfast exceeded expectations with a generous spread, including bacon, eggs, and cereals. While the surroundings might be limited for some, the nearby dining options at the pub and Thai place provided sufficient choices for meals. The stay was enjoyable and well-suited for a short visit.

Had a great time with friends during our stay. We explored the beautiful Peak District and visited a local brewery. The air conditioning in our room was a lifesaver, keeping us cool during the heatwave. Rooms were clean and just right for our group adventures. Definitely recommend for a budget-friendly trip!
The bathroom was a bit cramped, which might be a concern for some, but it didn’t dampen our fun.

A Mixed Bag, Budget Stay with Room for Improvement
While the stay had its drawbacks, I appreciated the comfortable beds, enabling a decent night's sleep. Take a stroll to the nearby Green King for a more satisfying breakfast, as the hotel options fell short. it’s a budget stay with essentials but don’t expect luxuries.
